WebMD Third Video Collaboration

WebMD Third Video Collaboration

Hello, fabulous readers!

If your menopause symptoms aren’t improving, it can be incredibly frustrating. But don’t worry- you’re not alone, and there are steps you can take to find relief.

Watch Our Latest WebMD Video!

In my third collaboration with WebMD, I share essential tips and advice on what to do when your menopause treatment protocol isn’t working. Here’s a sneak peek of what you’ll learn:

  • Preparing for Your Doctor’s Visit: Learn how to find a menopause specialist using the Menopause Society (menopause.org) to locate accredited professionals in your area. Understand why it’s important to stay positive and continue your current treatment until you consult your doctor.
  • Key Questions to Ask Your Doctor:
    • “My symptoms aren’t better/are getting worse. What do I do now?”: Find out why many women need their hormone therapy (HT) adjusted over time and what options might be available.
    • “Am I taking my treatment correctly?” Review your routine with your doctor to ensure you’re maximizing the potential of your current treatment.
    • “Could my symptoms be from something else?”: Explore other possible health conditions that might be causing your symptoms, such as thyroid issues or diabetes.
  • What Your Doctor May Ask You: Be prepared to discuss your current treatments, how you’re handling them, any lifestyle changes you’ve tried, and any side effects you’re experiencing. Your doctor might suggest adjusting your hormone doses, adding additional hormones or medications, or trying non-medication options.
  • Building Your Care Team:
    • Menopause Specialist: Learn the importance of seeing a doctor with specific training or accreditation in menopause.
    • Endocrinologist: Understand how these specialists can help treat symptoms caused by hormone changes.
    • Dietitian: Discover how a registered dietitian can help manage your symptoms through diet.
  • When to Speak Up:
    • Not Seeing Progress: Track your symptoms and discuss them with your doctor at each visit. Use my symptom tracker to compare your progress.
    • Unsure of Next Steps: Clarify your action plan before leaving your appointment. I recommend bringing a friend or loved one for support if needed.
    • Wanting a Second Opinion: Don’t hesitate to seek another doctor if you feel unheard or disrespected.
    • Concerning Health Symptoms: Learn about serious side effects to watch for and when to contact your doctor immediately.
