My Recipe for the Best Thanksgiving Ever!

For this special edition of Menopause Mondays, let’s focus on how YOU can celebrate the day.  You may spend hours obsessing over the turkey today, but hey, let’s keep the cooking tips in the kitchen – stuffing a turkey with apples and oranges is great but definitely not a remedy for other kinds of moisture issues!

In the spirit of giving and thankfulness, I’m here to share my special perimenopause and menopause Thanksgiving recipe – the one that helps me look forward to and enjoy the holidays without losing my cool (or my turkey).

Ingredients:

(No need to preheat the oven – you’re already too hot.)

In a large bowl, combine:

  • 2 heaping tablespoons of friends and family
  • One 2-pound bag of genuine gratitude
  • 1 cup of “It’s okay not to be perfect.”
  • 3 sticks of “Can you help me cook, and clean up?”
  • 4 large cups of peeled, cored, and chopped patience
  • A sprinkle of alcohol (trust me, overdoing this can lead to holiday mayhem)
  • Skip any sauce – you’re saucy enough as it is

Gently stir the above ingredients together. Remember, we already beat ourselves up enough; there’s no need to beat anything else. And most importantly, remember that suffering in silence is OUT – reaching out is IN! The final step? Fold in lots and lots of love!

Now you have the recipe for THE BEST THANKSGIVING EVER! Enjoy the day with humor, grace, and a turkey that’s perfectly cooked – just like you! 🦃🔥❤️

My Motto: Suffering in silence is OUT! Reaching out is IN!
