Many of you have been subscribed to my MENOPAUSE MONDAYS® trademarked blog for many of its 13+ years. Thank you for your support of my mission to break open the conversation about perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause. Together we have tackled topics like hot flashes, night sweats, memory loss, mood swings, anxiety, loss of libido, insomnia, weight gain, painful sex, vaginal dryness, stiffness/aches pains, hair loss, migraines, colonoscopies, meditation, osteoporosis, the clitoris, pelvic floor dysfunction, HRT, breast cancer, thyroid disease, GSM, breast health, heart health, and so much more!
In September, I decided to break open the conversation and lift the veil off cosmetic surgery. As I mentioned in MENOPAUSE MONDAYS® Blog Lifting the Veil Off of Cosmetic Surgery Part I, and in Part II, I wanted to share the full journey, embracing my vulnerability, and documenting the day to day process.
Having cosmetic surgery is a very personal decision and one that I wrestled with for 10+ years. After finally breaking through all my self-shaming and fear, I listened to my heart. For my 68th Birthday, I gave myself the gift of facial rejuvenation with the amazing, Dr. Amir Karam, Carmel Valley Plastic Surgery. Best gift ever!
Kelly Greytok, a plastic surgery recovery nurse helped me with my post-op care. If you can’t book Kelly, you can get her wonderful video series with great tips on post-op care. I highly recommend it to anyone having plastic surgery.
If you follow me on my Facebook page @menopausemondays or Instagram @menopause_mondays, Twitter @ellendolgen, TikTok @MenopauseMondays, or LinkedIn @EllenDolgen, you may have viewed some of these pictures and videos. When I look back now at my two-month mark, I can’t believe the amazing healing that took place in such a short time.
Dr. Amir Karam put together a quick viewing of my two-month cosmetic journey. I hope this video is helpful to anyone who is contemplating a similar surgery or supporting someone who is. Patience and realistic expectations are key to successful healing.
This gift to myself is one that keeps on giving!
