Sweata Weatha

I am sooooooooooooooooo ready.

I recently read about the Dove Self-Esteem Project, which surveyed more than 1,000 girls ages 1–17.  One in two girls said that toxic beauty advice on social media influences their low self-esteem.  This was disheartening and not surprising.

I would imagine if a poll were taken of perimenopause and post-menopausal women, they would find similar results.  A positive body image is a lifelong challenge for most of us.

As we move through different phases of our life, our bodies change as well.  Many women find that during their menopausal journey, they suddenly become a member of the sisterhood of the shrinking pants.  Accepting those changes and having a healthy body image affects how we feel.

You may find that you must purge your closet to embrace those changes and feel comfortable.  I moved into  “mom jeans” and got rid of those lower-rise jeans.  I am more comfortable (no more annoying muffin top), which makes me feel happy and confident!

As summer winds down, I find myself getting excited.  I don’t know about you, but I am ready for sweata weatha! I can’t wait to slip into my ‘mom jeans’ and throw on an oversized sweata.

I feel like this:

My Motto:  Suffering in silence is OUT! Reaching out is IN!
