The next big thing in weight loss: melatonin. New research published in the Journal of Pineal Researchshows that melatonin helps control weight gain by stimulating “beige fat,” which can burn calories instead of storing them as fat.

Bone up: Vitamin D supplements alone do not improve bone health in post-menopausal women, according to a recent study accepted for publication in The Endocrine Society’s Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism. They need to be taken in conjunction with calcium, researchers say.
