I will be partaking in the celebration of Military Spouse Appreciation Day on May 10th. I’m speaking at the Naval Base San Diego in California to military families about perimenopause, menopause and other women’s health issues. Military spouses are the warriors who stay at home as their loved ones fight to protect our safety. They deserve our gratitude and also commitment to help them live long healthy lives so they can continue to be the backbone of their families. I will also be giving out to all 100 attendees a free copy of my book, so they can bring home this information, Shmirshky: think inside the box. Thank you to TheyServe 2, a non-profit dedicated to supporting military service families, Ellen is able to donate thousands of her books to spouses of servicemen, servicewomen, and civilians supporting the military.

Let’s party in person! On Monday, June 3 from 5pm to 7pm PST, grab some girlfriends and head to Burlap Del Mar restaurant for the launch of Menopause Mondays Live; brought to you by me and Burlap Del Mar. PLEASE RSVP HERE.

Don’t miss last week’s “Menopause Mondays: 5 Natural Ways to Improve Your Health and the Earth’s, Too!” as seen on Vibrant Nation, The Boomer Blogs, genConnect, Menopause Chit Chat, Fabulously 40, Social Moms, Huffington Post and Yahoo! Cleaning up the planet can go a long way toward cleaning up your own health—especially during menopause. Read the post for five ways to protect both your health and Mother Nature’s health.

Thanks to Generation Fabulous for recently featuring “Women and Preventing Heart Disease”, in which I describe the deeply personal impact heart disease has had on my family. I am living proof that a heart-healthy lifestyle and the effective use of preventative medicines are as important as hereditary predispositions.

I’ll also be on air with January Jones (BlogTalkRadio) on May 21, 6pm PST/9pm EST.

After struggling with her own severe menopause symptoms and doing years of research, Ellen resolved to share what she learned from experts and her own trial and error. Her goal was to replace the confusion, embarrassment, and symptoms millions of women go through–before, during, and after menopause–with the medically sound solutions she discovered. Her passion to become a “sister” and confidant to all women fueled Ellen’s first book, Shmirshky: the pursuit of hormone happiness. As a result of the overwhelming response from her burgeoning audiences and followers’ requests for empowering information they could trust, Ellen’s weekly blog, Menopause MondaysTM, was born.

  • I am 66 yrs. old, and still have occasional hot flashes. I have night sweats just about every night. What should I do?

      Hi Jayne,
I am so glad that you reached out for support.
Are you currently going to a Menopause Specialist? If not, take a look at the Menopause Doctor Directory on my website.
Since you are experiencing hot flashes and night sweats, it sounds to me that it is time to see your menopause specialist. Are you currently on any hormone therapy? When you sign up for my Menopause Mondays Newsletter, you should have received my Menopause Symptoms Chart. Start charting your symptoms and take this in with you to your menopause specialist so that they can see the number and severity of your hot flashes.
You are not alone! Take a look at my Dear Ellen column for some helpful tips: What To Do About Hot Flashes?
If you have any other questions, feel free to circle back with me.
      Hugs, Ellen
