I will be partaking in the celebration of Military Spouse Appreciation Day on May 10th. I’m speaking at the Naval Base San Diego in California to military families about perimenopause, menopause and other women’s health issues. Military spouses are the warriors who stay at home as their loved ones fight to protect our safety. They deserve our gratitude and also commitment to help them live long healthy lives so they can continue to be the backbone of their families. I will also be giving out to all 100 attendees a free copy of my book, so they can bring home this information, Shmirshky: think inside the box. Thank you to TheyServe 2, a non-profit dedicated to supporting military service families, Ellen is able to donate thousands of her books to spouses of servicemen, servicewomen, and civilians supporting the military.

Cleaning up the planet can go a long way toward cleaning up your own health—especially during menopause. Read the post for five ways to protect both your health and Mother Nature’s health.

Thanks to Generation Fabulous for recently featuring “Women and Preventing Heart Disease”, in which I describe the deeply personal impact heart disease has had on my family. I am 66 yrs. old, and still have occasional hot flashes. I have night sweats just about every night. What should I do?

      Hi Jayne,
I am so glad that you reached out for support.
Are you currently going to a Menopause Specialist? If not, take a look at the Menopause Doctor Directory on my website.
Since you are experiencing hot flashes and night sweats, it sounds to me that it is time to see your menopause specialist. Are you currently on any hormone therapy? When you sign up for my Menopause Mondays Newsletter, you should have received my Menopause Symptoms Chart. Start charting your symptoms and take this in with you to your menopause specialist so that they can see the number and severity of your hot flashes.
You are not alone! Take a look at my Dear Ellen column for some helpful tips: What To Do About Hot Flashes?
If you have any other questions, feel free to circle back with me.
      Hugs, Ellen
