My dear friend and mentor, Marcia taught me to make every day my birthday, because on those days we celebrate ourselves. So in honor and in memory of Marcia, I sign my emails, “Happy Birthday.”

Invariably, I will get an email back from someone who is confused about these birthday wishes as it is not their birthday. This results in a wonderful email exchange that keeps Marcia’s zest for life alive.

Her goal was to replace the confusion, embarrassment, and symptoms millions of women go through–before, during, and after menopause–with the medically sound solutions she discovered. Her passion to become a “sister” and confidant to all women fueled Ellen’s first book, Shmirshky: the pursuit of hormone happiness.
