always talk to strangers….

I went to Phoenix yesterday to attend a Florence Crittenden Event. This is an amazing organization. They provide new beginnings, safety, hope and opportunity for young girls in crisis. There were over 900 people in attendance- both men and women.

Shmirshky: think inside the box was one of the gifts provided as a prize to the table who donated the most dollars. As soon as people learned what the book was about, I found myself wishing I had a back pack full of books so that I could have handed them out. Both men and women were asking me questions. One woman in particular, who is post menopausal, whispered that she felt much better except for that one department. I raised one eye brow and looked her in the eye and said, “I have a chapter all about that…it is called Sex in the Desert”. She winked back and said….”I am buying the book today!”

After struggling with her own severe menopause symptoms and doing years of research, Ellen resolved to share what she learned from experts and her own trial and error. Her goal was to replace the confusion, embarrassment, and symptoms millions of women go through–before, during, and after menopause–with the medically sound solutions she discovered. Her passion to become a “sister” and confidant to all women fueled Ellen’s first book, Shmirshky: the pursuit of hormone happiness. As a result of the overwhelming response from her burgeoning audiences and followers’ requests for empowering information they could trust, Ellen’s weekly blog, Menopause MondaysTM, was born.
